Empact Community

You’re Welcome Here

Community-Centered Gatherings

Empact Community brings together people who care deeply about social justice and inner healing. We are here to support and learn from one other as we navigate this world.

At Empact, we believe meaningful conversations and deep connection with others in our community leads to felt change.

Community Circles

Facilitated by the Empact team, our Community Circles are intimate, in person and virtual events focused on a specific theme related to inner healing and/or social justice. During our time together, we move through a series of curated, guided discussion prompts as a group. Community Circles may also occasionally feature a special guest, include a craft or activity, or highlight a piece of media.

Community Mixers

These casual, mix-and-mingle style events are a time to connect with others interested in inner healing and social justice through empathy, storytelling, and community. This is an opportunity to see familiar faces and meet new folks in the community—think happy hour meets community conversation. Community Mixers are meant for open dialogue and gathering, with optional discussion prompts available to help guide meaningful conversations.

Our Community Agreements

We are mindful of how we are building our community. We understand that creating a safe, empowering, and enjoyable space is necessary to engage in dialogue that can involve emotional and, at times, uncomfortable topics. These iterative set of agreements help us engage authentically and vulnerably.

We recognize the power imbalances perpetuated by the oppressive systems of white supremacy, hetero-patriarchy, colonialism, and capitalism. In that backdrop, we show up with grace and curiosity, for ourselves and each other. We recognize that tending to our inner growth is a form of collective care, for we are kin. We hold space for one another by respecting privacy and boundaries.  We believe in our individual and collective capacity for change.

We are in this, together.

  • We lead with empathy by respecting everyone’s lived experiences, identities, and perspectives and by engaging from a place of curiosity and care. We are mindful of how this extends to the ways we each experience power and privilege and actively work to challenge the structures that create these dynamics within our space.

  • We honor the interconnection between self care and collective care, understanding that we must attend to our individual needs to be able to show up for our community and recognizing that our inner healing, or lack thereof, may have an impact on others. We practice growth by embracing learning and discomfort, prioritizing transparency and accountability, and believing in our individual and collective capacity for change.

  • We show care for one another by making our spaces accessible and accommodating to all and practicing patience and presence. We prioritize safety and trust by respecting privacy and boundaries.
